Frequently Asked Questions

Chronological age refers to the time elapsed since birth, as indicated by your birthday. Biological age, on the other hand, reflects the cellular and physiological health of your body, indicating how well your body is aging compared to others of the same chronological age.

Biological age is influenced by various factors including genetics, lifestyle choices (such as diet, smoking, exercise, and sleep patterns), environmental factors (like stress, pollution, and sun exposure), and existing diseases or chronic conditions.

  3. The test itself is simple. It's either saliva or blood prick. Fill out the paperwork and send it to the Elysium lab. Dr. Perlman can walk you through this
  4. In about 6 weeks or less, you will receive the results by email.

Genetics predicts about 25% of your biological age. The rest is on you. Our diet, exercise, sleeping patterns, and environmental factors also play a part. Peptides played a big part in reducing Dr. Perlman’s biological age by ten years. At the Texas Institute for Anti-Aging Research, we believe it’s a combination of several offerings that can catapult you to success in the journey for a long and healthy life.

This is our specialty at TIFAAR (short for Texas Institute for Anti-aging Research). Dr. Perlman will take a deep dive with a consultation, various recommended testing, and questionnaires. Dr Perlman has experience in both traditional medicine (45 years) and functional medicine (10 years) with intense training through A4M, the holy grail of functional medicine. Inflammation, gut-brain connection, and more, research by scientists and doctors from all over the world, including Harvard, Stanford, and UC San Diego are just to name a few who have backed this research. We are on the cutting edge with products and services to be your guiding light through this complicated world of epigenetics.
