Stem Cells Made Simple
Turning back your biologic clock
The complicated, controversial, and often confusing subject of stem cell therapy — finally made easy to learn, easy to understand, and easy to access. Written by Dr. Joseph Perlman, Plastic Surgeon and Regenerative Medicine Physician.
Introduction
Could this be the key you’ve been waiting for?
For most of history, we could only manage our degeneration and illness with surgeries and drugs — leaving millions living with chronic health issues. But consider this: when male and female DNA combine and a new life takes root, there is an explosion of stem cells — the cells that hold the blueprint for human life. Cells that build a beating heart in just 4 weeks and a complete infant in 9 months.
Stem cell therapy is the process of harnessing that same creative power to activate your body’s own internal repair system. Regeneration is encoded in their DNA — they already know how to multiply, rebuild, and repair.
What if you could be YOUNGER and STRONGER for LONGER?
Chapter One
You are miraculously made
Your body is a structural masterpiece — more amazing than science fiction. It works for you 24/7, constantly balancing, rebuilding, regenerating, communicating, and protecting. It performs hundreds of thousands of chemical, electrical, and physical tasks every moment, with intelligence far beyond our comprehension.
Make no mistake: you are a masterpiece — and healing is already encoded in your DNA.
108,000

“The power that created your body is the power that heals your body.”
Chapter Two
Smart Medicine
Real medicine is the science, study, and practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Smart Medicine means being proactive — preventing an issue before it becomes a chronic disease. Three types are essential to know.
Mind-Body Medicine
A real science (psychoneuroimmunology): how the thoughts you think, the emotions you feel, and what you focus on affect your health and nervous system.
Lifestyle Medicine
Eight of the top ten killers in America are preventable, lifestyle-driven diseases — shaped by what you eat, drink, think, and how you move.
Regenerative Medicine
The wave of the future, and it’s here. Healing and regeneration are encoded in your DNA — and stem cells are how we activate your internal repair system.
Chapter Three
A brief history of stem cell therapy
Stem cells are not brand new. The term dates back to the 1800s — here is how the science unfolded.
1800s
Scientists recognize cells as the building blocks of the body
1950s
Life-giving cells widely used to treat leukemia
1960s
First successful bone marrow transplant between siblings
1978
Duplicating cells discovered in umbilical cord blood
1988
Stem cells found in adipose (fat) tissue
“The new research suggests that perhaps we should consider stem cells one of the secrets to a longer life.”
— TIME Magazine
Chapter Four
Degeneration, regeneration & you
At the root of all sickness, disease, and aging is simply degeneration — to deteriorate, break down, or become less than your former self. The good news? Your body is already an expert at the opposite: regeneration — to build, grow, repair, and create new tissue.
Your skin is brand new every few weeks; your gut lining renews in days. Disease and aging set in when degeneration outpaces regeneration. That’s where stem cells come in — but they decline sharply as we age.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) as a proportion of cells in bone marrow. They repair muscle, bone, cartilage, and tendon — and decline rapidly with age, meaning longer repair times and more risk of injury and disease.
“The key to a healthy life is healthy regeneration.”
Chapter Five
What are stem cells?
A stem cell is an undifferentiated cell that can give rise to more cells of the same type, and from which other kinds of cells arise. Simply stated:
Stem cells are your body’s internal repair system — the foundation cells that repair injured tissue and replace cells that are damaged every day, in your skin, blood, muscles, nerves, gut, brain, and every organ.
Chapter Six
The types of stem cells
Not all stem cells are equal. Here is how the sources compare.
Fetal / Embryonic
From the inner mass cells of an embryo. Illegal in the US, extremely controversial, and full of moral issues.
Amniotic Fluid
Extracted by amniocentesis. Large amount of cellular debris, inconsistent concentration, unverifiable cell count.
Placental
Also extracted by amniocentesis. Same drawbacks — debris, inconsistent concentration, unverifiable count.
Autologous (your own)
Collected through surgery. Often invasive and expensive, not potent enough, and dependent on your age and health.
Umbilical Cord (Renewal Therapy)
Safe, simple & fast. Customizable, potent, robust and consistent — based on accepted medical practices.
Why Umbilical Cord Stem Cells
- Immune-system privileged — anyone can receive therapy without risk of rejection
- Unsurpassed regenerative capabilities — they seek out degeneration and build new tissue
- Nature’s most powerful anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating capacity
- Can be given multiple times in uniform, high-cell-count dosages
“Stem cells promise to radically change medicine by engaging the body’s own capacity of healing itself.”
— The Washington Post
Chapter Seven
The science and research
Research has shown positive outcomes with these and other conditions. Over 5,000 studies are currently underway — from autism to Parkinson’s.
- Chronic joint pain
- Chronic back pain
- Bulging / herniated discs
- Spinal cord injuries
- Knee injuries (meniscus, ACL, MCL)
- Arthritis / osteoarthritis
- Hip labral tears
- Tendinitis
- Shoulder injuries
- And many more under study
“Stem cells and derived products offer great promise for new medical treatments.”
— Mayo Clinic
Chapters Eight & Nine
What scientists, professionals & real people are saying
These are a few of the many first-hand accounts shared in the book — in their own words.
“Stem cells are the repair cells of your body. From industry leaders and sports stars to thousands of everyday people, stem cell therapy has helped when standard medicine failed.”
Dr. Neil Riordan
Stem cell scientist
“Renewal Therapy is your reserve of ‘replacement cells.’ They can morph into any kind of cell you need — for your eyes, muscles, skin, or blood.”
Dr. Al Sears
Physician
“I’ve received Renewal Therapy myself and noticed significant improvements. These cells are the conductors for sensing inflammation and triggering repair.”
Dr. Nikesh Jasani, M.D.
Physician
“The non-invasive process was simple, quick and painless. Six months later, joint pains are nearly eliminated, I sleep better, have more energy, and feel years younger.”
Matt Thibaut
Sports medicine professional
“Within three weeks of Renewal Therapy, I improved so much that I canceled my spine surgery. Six months later I remain pain-free and continue to see progress.”
Jane Potter
Patient
“I feel like I’ve turned the clock back at least 10 years. I walk, I’m losing weight, and I no longer need a cane. I’ve got my life back.”
Lulu

- The problem is degeneration; the solution is regeneration
- Stem cells decline rapidly as we age, leaving us more vulnerable
- Of the five types, umbilical cord stem cells are the most effective
- The science and research are undeniable and progressing rapidly
Are stem cells FDA approved?
The labs are regulated by and registered with the FDA. Stem cell therapy is a natural therapy, and natural therapies are not approved by the FDA. The entire process is handled within the United States.
How long does the therapy take?
Only a few minutes for a specific injection site, and about one hour for an IV infusion.
How many therapies do I need?
Each patient varies. Most people respond very well to one therapy; others benefit from a second three to six months later. Regenerative effects are typically seen for up to six months, while benefits can last much longer.
Are there any side effects?
Possible mild temporary discomfort or bruising at the injection site. One to two percent of patients experience mild flu-like symptoms.
How fast will I see results?
Responses vary. Anti-inflammatory results can be immediate or within a few days. Regenerative effects are typically first seen in four to six weeks — regeneration takes time.
Who is a candidate?
Anyone trying to keep their body functioning optimally should consider a consultation to discuss their personal situation and needs.
Will the exact area I want regenerate?
There are no guarantees a specific area will regenerate. Stem cells don’t speak the language of disease — the body uses paracrine signaling to call them to injured or damaged areas, and it prioritizes vital organs like the heart and lungs first. Many people also see benefits they didn’t expect, such as better vision or more stable blood sugar.
Is the therapy safe?
Yes. The cells are tested for your safety, and complete sterility is validated and maintained throughout the entire process. All regulatory guidelines are met or exceeded.
